About
Hi! I’m Martin Withaar. Twenty-six years old and with a passion for both programming and drumming, I was born in the Netherlands, and still live there.
From my childhood on I had a profound interest in computers. I got my first own PC (an old HP-86) from my dad at the age of nine and from then on embarked into the world of programming. After having somewhat ignored my talent for programming during my high school period I decided to give my forgotten skills a shot at college. I did Technical Informatics for two years before I had to quit due to personal reasons. Still programming and system design lived on as a hobby. After having been with several IT companies I am now active on a freelance basis.
Why martienus.com? First of all, Martienus is my birthname. So that is where the name comes from. Secondly, I made this site to share with you all kinds of practical solutions for the day-to-day problems that web-developers encounter. Looking for solutions to a coding problem often leads you to sites/forums with poorly written code and little to no explanation. And that’s where I want to make a difference.
All code on this website has been written by me, except where stated otherwise. It is free to use and redistribute to your liking. If parts of my code are integrated in applications of significance I’d very much like to hear: drop a line or send a mail.
